Have you ever wished that love came with a manual that addresses all the issues that come up in dating and relationships?
I had to learned love lessons the long way—through heartbreak, trial, and many “What was I thinking?” moments. These truths might have saved me years of frustration (and fewer chocolate chip cookies!)
Here are five things I wish I’d known about relationships sooner:
1- Real love goes beyond the romance phase: it takes work.
2- I’m valuable, with or without a partner. Being single is not a flaw.
3- I need to communicate directly and from the heart rather than having an instant reaction to something he says.
4- My partner is not responsible for my feelings, and I am not responsible for his.
5- I need to be true to myself. Always. Even if it means disappointing my partner.
I failed in a lot of my relationships because I didn’t understand how loving relationships work. I’m happy to report that now I’m happily married.
If these lessons stirred something in you and you’re ready to break old patterns, let’s talk. I offer one-on-one coaching sessions to help you build the kind of love that lasts—starting with yourself. Message me today to get started!
